Next Wednesday, June 6th, CSA Executive Director Tom Myers and Board Chair Cathy Lazarus will head up to the State Capitol in Sacramento to accept honors for the agency’s selection as 2018 Nonprofit of the Year for California Assembly District 24.  The agency is one of 100 nonprofit organizations throughout the State who will be so honored by their state senators and assemblymembers as part of California Nonprofits Day.

“For over 60 years, CSA has enhanced individual and community well-being, connecting homeless, low-income, and senior community members with emergency housing and wraparound services including food and mental health care,” says Assemblymember Marc Berman who nominated CSA for this honor. “I am heartened by the work CSA does every day to improve lives in our community and am proud to recognize CSA as Nonprofit of the Year for their critical work in the 24th Assembly District.”

“Nonprofits make California communities stronger, yet we’re often so busy that we don’t toot our own horns about the work we’re doing,” explains Jan Masaoka, CEO of the California Association of Nonprofits (CalNonprofits). “California Nonprofits Day is an opportunity for our elected officials to recognize the good work they see nonprofits doing in their districts, and it also demonstrates the larger collective impact of nonprofits throughout California.”
