AwardsHometown HeroesVolunteers

Congratulations to Tom Smith, Foothills Congregational Church and the Caring Communities of Mountain View and Los Altos for being our 2020 Hometown Heroes!

What a year this has been – all the more reason to take a break from politics and the pandemic to celebrate the many heroes who have stepped up during these challenging times. This year’s Hometown Heroes is on Thursday, October 1, from 5:00 to 6:00PM, and there will be plenty to celebrate! The event will feature our 2020 honorees, an agency tour, community impact stories and more. Admission to the event is free!

The virtual event will be co-hosted by Executive Director Tom Myers and CSA Board President Rose Baldwin, and will feature live and prerecorded video footage of our honorees, as well as agency volunteers, staff, clients and community members. Our video footage will truly reflect the diversity of our wonderful community with interviews conducted in multiple languages representing many of our programs. Attendees will also come along with us on a virtual agency tour.

While there is no charge to participate in the event, we do ask that people register in advance on our website and have a glass of their favorite sparkling beverage on hand to toast our well-deserving honorees and community members. This year we are partnering with Hook & Ladder Winery and JW Catering so attendees can purchase tasty wine and appetizers to enjoy during the event, with a portion of sales benefitting CSA. Ordering information is available on our website

Funds raised through sponsorships, virtual table hosts and individual donations will support vital CSA programs and operations. CSA is delighted to welcome the Los Altos Town Crier as the official media sponsor for the event. Sponsorship and donation opportunities are also available at https://www2.csacares.org/events.
