Appetite for GoodHomeless Prevention Services

With everything that is going on in the world these days, we are delighted to share some good news about our efforts to find permanent housing for clients and the recent outpouring of generosity from community partners.

Despite the pandemic, CSA is housing more clients than ever! In the last quarter, our case managers housed 7 individuals. Hats off to our case managers who are hard at work helping clients through these difficult times.

CSA received a number of diaper donations for our client families in December. Help a Mother Out, an organization that works to improve baby and family well being by increasing access to diapers for families in need, donated a whopping 200 boxes and plans to donate more in the future. Girl Scouts Daisy Troop 60078 also put together a large diaper donation for us. Diapers are so important and can be a real budget-buster for many families, so we are immensely grateful for these generous donations.

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Appetite for Good, CSA, Jewish Family & Children’s Services, JW Catering and generous community support, low-income individuals and families who celebrate Chanukah were able to enjoy an authentic holiday meal. Says Laura Sigura, Care Manager with JFCS’ Seniors At Home Program in Palo Alto. “We connected with CSA through a local Rabbi and distributed these vouchers to clients who were so excited to enjoy these special meals.” Says IdaRose Sylvester, founder of Appetite for Good, “We were delighted to dedicate our latest drive to help local restaurants while providing meals for those celebrating this holiday.”
