Treat Yourself, CSA’s first ever self-care event for our unhoused clients this past Saturday, was a big success, drawing over 40 clients for a day of activities, refreshments and distribution of personal care items. Special thanks to volunteers from 23andMe and The Reclamation Project who helped throughout the morning and afternoon.
In keeping with CSA’s mission to preserve and promote the dignity of our clients, the agency is holding the first-ever daylong event designed to provide a sense of well-being and belonging for our unhoused clients on Saturday, June 1. Billed as Treat Yourself from a sketch on the popular television series Parks and Rec, the event will include games, art activities, refreshments and a distribution of personal care items.

Thank you to the employees at 23andMe for organizing a very successful food drive. The total weight came to 2,804 pounds – a great deal of food by any measure for our neighbors in need. We are especially grateful for their focus on nutritious foods, including whole grains and low-sodium canned vegetables.

At 4:00 a.m. this past Wednesday, 40 people, including CSA staff and volunteers, gathered at the agency for maps, instructions and fresh coffee before heading out to count the Mountain View-Los Altos area homeless population.
